We collect as little as we can. Here's all of it.

If you just read the site
We don't run ads or ad trackers. If you say yes on the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to see which guides get read, how people arrive and roughly where they're from. It sets first-party cookies and collects things like the pages you view, your device and browser, and an approximate location. We don't use it to identify you, and we don't link it to anything else we hold. If you decline, Analytics never loads. You can change your answer any time with cookie settings, or opt out everywhere with Google's browser add-on.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and to keep the site running.
If you join the email list
We keep your email address so we can send you a note when a new guide goes up. It's stored with our email provider, Resend. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes you off the list straight away. We never sell or share the list.
If you use the contact form
Your name, email address and message are sent to our inbox through Resend so we can reply. We keep the message only as long as the conversation needs it.
Links to other sites
Some pages may link to shops or makers. Once you're on their site, their privacy policy applies. If a link is an affiliate link, the shop may use a cookie to credit the sale to us. See the affiliate disclosure.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. That applies wherever you live, including under Canada's PIPEDA and the EU and UK GDPR. Contact us and we'll deal with it within 30 days.
